A-KEEP (Alabama-Korea Education & Economic Partnership)
With the building of a Hyundai manufacturing facility and associated industry suppliers, Montgomery became home to a burgeoning Korean population. A-KEEP was created by one of the city’s new Korean residents to provide multicultural diversity education and help forge economic partnerships between Alabama and Korea. One of the first efforts in this endeavor was to bring an art exhibition to the United States. “Two Lines,” a photographic study of two different nations (Korea and Germany) divided within by war, commemorated the 60th anniversary of the demilitarized zone and the 25th anniversary of the tearing down of the Berlin Wall. Stamp designed a new logo and collateral for A-KEEP, as well as materials for Two Lines that included a print ad, poster and website to promote the exhibit.
Sickle Cell Foundation of the River Region
Originally the Sickle Cell Foundation of Greater Montgomery Inc., the organization sought to update their name to bring awareness about the sickle cell disease and inform the public about the services the Foundation provides. Through CreateAthon®, Stamp was able update the branding to better reflect the broader reach of the organization and produce a more unified message to coincide with current nationwide sickle cell awareness efforts. Stamp created a website to help the Foundation educate the public about the symptoms, treatments, resources available and ways people can support the organization's efforts.
Montgomery Education Foundation
The goal of the Montgomery Education Foundation is to raise public awareness and increase the number of school/community partnerships with Montgomery Public Schools. Proceeds from their annual team trivia event are used to fund prizes for individual schools with winning Trivia Teams and to fund the ongoing work of Partners in Education. MEF applied for CreateAthon® to assist with a rebrand and marketing materials to promote their annual fund raising event. Stamp developed a new name (Montgomery Brain Brawl Team Trivia), a logo, a poster and templated letterhead for the marketing members of the organization.
Montgomery Area Food Bank
Growing every year, the Montgomery Area Food Bank oversees an astounding operation that provides food and health education to hundreds of thousands of Alabamians across the state. Stamp worked during CreateAthon to create a promotional video that illustrated the tremendous accomplishments of the Food Bank and the people that make it possible. Our partnership gave us the opportunity to explore the multitude of ways the Food Bank makes a difference across Alabama - our video sought to bring that tremendous care, selflessness, and passion to the forefront, to put the spotlight on a phenomenal nonprofit organization that makes a difference in countless lives every single day.
Montgomery Humane Society
The Montgomery Humane Society prevents cruelty to animals by operating an animal shelter that are homeless, unwanted and surrendered by the owners by operating an adoption center for healthy animals; by investigating cruelty and abuse cases and by educating the public in animal owner responsibility. The client wanted a colored brochure listing all their programs and services along with a description of each. Through CreateAthon, Stamp was able to schedule a photo shoot at the shelter and meet with the client to discuss their goals of the brochure. Stamp developed a beautiful 4 page color brochure that they take to numerous events throughout the year. Jim even negotiated with the printer to donate the paper stock.
Family Guidance Center of Alabama
The Family Guidance Center of Alabama is an organization that provides an umbrella of programs and services dedicated to helping people in need in all aspects of family life. The client already had a website, but with over 30 programs in place to help home, family and professional life, the Family Guidance center needed a way to better organize and provide information about the services they provide. Through CreateAthon®, Stamp was able to work with the client to categorize the programs and reorganize the website to allow users to first understand the capabilities of the Family Guidance Center, and secondly get the information the user needs to receive assistance.
The Capri Theatre
The Capri Theatre is a Montgomery institution. It was founded in 1941 as The Clover and was Montgomery’s first neighborhood theatre. The Capri is now Montgomery’s only Independent Movie Theatre Art house. In order to relay theatre policies to moviegoers, The Capri wanted animated graphics that would be played before each movie began. Through CreateAthon®, Stamp was able to create an animated intro with audio to inform patrons of safety policies, such as the emergency exits, and policies that ensure the enjoyment of all patrons, such as no smoking and no talking. The graphics were designed to be eye-catching and friendly, while still getting the important policies to guests.
Capitol Sounds Concert Band
The Capitol Sounds Concert Band is one of the oldest performing arts organizations in Montgomery, having started in 1972. Their concerts are always family-friendly and appeal to a wide audience, performing a variety of styles of music, ranging from classical to patriotic, jazz to holiday. In 2014 Capitol Sounds applied for CreateAthon® to assist with marketing materials to promote not only the organization as a whole, but also their annual fund raising concert. During a 24-hour symphony of productivity, Stamp developed a new logo, a poster and ticket design for the annual fund raiser, as well as a business card design and letterhead for the front-facing members of the organization.
Sight Savers America
With over 74 million children in the United States and 20 million are medically underserved, we were thrilled to help Sight Savers America put together some collateral pieces to help brand their identity in the marketplace and ultimately spread the word about the amazing things they are doing in Birmingham, AL. Sight Savers America not only focuses on children’s vision but also on the total health of each child. They fund school screenings that bring care to thousands of children in need. We had the opportunity to freshen up the logo for Sight Savers America, design brochures to tell their story and create an all-encompassing pocket folder for these pieces to be presented together. Since the children are our future, you never want to lose sight of the whole child!
Anti–bullying Campaign
The Family Sunshine Center and the Montgomery Public Schools partnered to request an anti-bullying initiative with a twist: target children early in an attempt to stop bullying before it begins, which is typically on the playground as early as Kindergarten.
Our research revealed that most anti-bulling campaigns were negative from the start. So, instead of telling children what NOT TO DO, Stamp set out to inspire young children to DO the right thing.
The R.O.C.K. campaign was developed and has proven to be a concept that has immediate appeal to elementary school children: bullying is not just wrong, it’s just not cool. We created the acronym R.O.C.K. Respect Others. Create Kindness. A multi-layered strategy was created around R.O.C.K. that included a pledge for the children to take and a variety of support material to be used in schools to promote the initiative. The designs were friendly, fun and easy for the kids to remember. Not only was this campaign awarded a Gold ADDY® and a Public Service Award, but packaging and syndication for other school systems outside of Montgomery is in the works. Now we think that ROCKS!
MABCA
MABCA (Montgomery Area Business Committee for the Arts) strives to create an environment where the arts can flourish by encouraging, inspiring and stimulating business to support the arts in the WORKPLACE, in EDUCATION, and the COMMUNITY. In 2009 MABCA applied for CreateAthon® with a need to build awareness of their mission. After working through their goals with them, we decided that a consumer facing branding campaign should include a new logo, website, stationery package, and foundation brochure. With one web designer, one print designer, one copywriter and 24 hours of time, we were able to deliver this entire campaign. The MABCA project was recognized by the American Advertising Federation as a Gold winner in 2010.
Montgomery City County Public Library System
Montgomery’s City-County Public Library was in need of a vehicle to communicate the large variety of services the library offers. We all love to read, and moreover, we love to promote reading to others. So Stamp selected the library system as a CreateAthon® client, and our in-house production department jumped on board to create the informative “Check This Out” video that quickly educates the viewer on the many unexpected free services and programs offered to the community. This project was originally requested to just be shown in the local libraries but Stamp produced it to have a final run length of 2:00 so it could air as a PSA.
